VERTIGO can occur as a manifestation in several diseases, 75% of which belong to the ENT sphere, more precisely to the inner ear.

The ear is not only an organ of hearing, but also of balance.

The organ of balance is found in the inner ear and is responsible for monitoring the position and movements of the head. Receptors in the inner ear send information about the position of the head and body in space all the time, allowing balance to be maintained. When the equilibrium receptors in the inner ears (right or left) do not act in the same way, vertigo may occur.

But NOT any DIZZINESS or imbalance means VERTIGO.

DIZZINESS is a sensation of insecurity, usually fleeting, which can manifest as cloudy head sensation, disorientation in space, sensation of floating or swaying and is often the result of systemic, central nervous system or cardiovascular disorders.

DIZZINESS can occur in a number of general conditions, such as:

➢ hypertensive crisis

➢ hypoglycemia

➢ anemia

➢ vertebral-basilar insufficiency

➢ endocrine disorders

➢ digestive disorders (cholecystitis, appendicitis)

➢ administration of some drugs

➢ excessive alcohol consumption or drugs use

➢ movement sickness

➢ mental disorders, stress, excessive fatigue.

Following the principle: WE TREAT THE CAUSE AND NOT THE EFFECT, in order to determine if the balance disorder is VERTIGO or DIZZINESS and implicitly to determine the triggering cause, a complete evaluation is needed, performed by a specialist doctor.
